Senior Automation Engineer

Risen One Consulting is currently seeking a talented senior-level Automation Engineer to join our team of talented staff in helping to modernize how citizens interact with their National forests. Using a modern technology stack and agile approach, in this role you will have an opportunity to be a part of a workforce that is transforming IT through technology modernization efforts within the United States Department of Agriculture.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Analyzing user stories and requirements for validity and feasibility

  • Collaborate closely with other team members and departments

  • Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)

  • Detect, log, and track software defects and inconsistencies

  • Provide timely solutions

  • Apply quality engineering principles throughout the Agile product lifecycle

  • Provide support and documentation

  • Report bugs and errors to development teams

  • Help troubleshoot issues

What you must have:

  • 5+ years experience in testing web applications, and or client-server/mobile applications

  • 2+ years of automation coding experience in Java utilizing Selenium, Cucumber, or similar object-oriented language

  • Experience in API and performance testing

  • Defect triage and management utilizing the defect lifecycle

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust per Federal contract requirements

What we’d like you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, or similar tool

  • Experience with Java-based applications

  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework

  • Strategic perspective and business acumen - Looks toward the broadest possible view of an issue/ challenge; can easily pose future scenarios

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to communicate clearly and concisely

  • Prior exposure providing testing deliverables within Agile and Scrum methodologies.

  • Experience on US Federal Government Projects is a big plus

  • Passion for delivering defect-free software
